How do I change the color of words and not the block around the words

Hi Kerry! Click the A icon to change the color of the text. It is to the left of the paint bucket icon used for coloring the background. If you are talking about the subtitles themselves there is a separate subtitle editing block that is apart from the bottom bar, so click the A icon on that.
