Deleting multiple subtitle block

Is there a simple way to delete multiple subtitle block at once besides the up & down arrows to absorb them into the block above and below? I like to consolidate my text into large blocks but that makes for a tone of clicking while editing. Just wondering if there is an easier way to do this.

There is! So, on the subtitle editor in the menu at the top there is an option called “Carry over subtitles to the next blank.” I believe this is what you are talking about. This will remove all of the blank spaces and carry over the time from the previous subtitle block to fill them.

So if you have:

“Hi my name is Bob” 0:00-0:15
BLANK 0:16-0:20
“How are you” 0:21-0:30
BLANK 0:31-0:40

After you run that you will have:

“Hi my name is Bob” 0:00-0:20
“How are you” 0:21-0:40

It’s a bit like using a hammer instead of a scalpel, so as long as you are ok with that, it might be just what you are looking for. I would probably run it right after you upload, so you can easily re-load the subtitles if it doesn’t work the way you wanted ideally.
