Any updates on this ticket? https://clipscribe.com/question/can-i-disabled-automatic-captions/#answer-56822

It’s really annoying to have to wait for captions to be generated when I don’t actually need them.

Thank you for adding this feature. However, I think there is a bug where when you select no language, the subtitle element in the design editor is not created (and also doesn’t appear when you upload your own captions).

@Florian Walther oh no. Ok, let me test that today and I will report back.

@Florian Walther Hey Florian, I tested this with one of the tests I had done when setting it up and the import went through of the SRT file.
Could you email me your SRT file to craigl@clipscribe.com and then let me know which video you are trying to import it to so I can test on that one? Maybe there is another issue.
Thanks!
Craig

It happened for multiple videos but the subtitles appeared when after I chose the same template again.

Hey Florian. Not yet, but I am going to see if I can just bypass it for your account over the next couple of days. Give me a day or two to sort that out. Feel free to email me for updates as well at craigl@clipscribe.com.

Thank you very much!

Florian,

Sorry this took me longer than I expected.

So, I added the option under language choices to not transcribe your video.

A few notes on this.

  1. Our system’s editing capabilities are built around the transcription, so to be able to edit out sections of your video, you would need to leave transcription on or upload an SRT file. If you are just wanting to remove the visibility of your subtitles, this can be done other ways.
  2. The system will still need to process your preview videos, so you can still expect some processing time when your video is uploaded. Depending on the file size of your original video and length, this part can actually take longer than the actual transcription at times.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks!

Craig

Thank you for doing this! What do you mean by “language choices”?

Craig Staff replied 3 years ago

@Florian Walther You are welcome! When you upload a video, it asks you what language you want it transcribed in. Instead of choosing a language, choose Do not transcribe.
Thanks!
