Is there a limit on the size or length of a video?  I have an hour video 4 GBs – is it crazy to think it could handle it?  Judith

Hi Judith!

You could probably get away with it, but I wouldn’t recommend it. There is a general upload size limit of 2GB, but theoretically, you could probably try to upload it and it might go through.

However, ClipScribe is tailor-made for shorter content under 10 minutes and wasn’t created for videos over 30 minutes. You will likely experience more frustration with an hour-long video. Often very long encoding/make times.

The ClipScribe goal is to make your content command attention in the feed and one might argue that if someone is watching an hour long video, you already have their attention.

So, I would generally suggest using CS to create short attention-grabbing videos and use them to push people to your long-form content.

Also, if your video is an hour long, I would at the least pre-compress it. If you upload a full-size uncompressed or lightly compressed video it will be even more frustrating as it will also compound encoding times.

So, overall, I don’t recommend uploading long-form videos to ClipScribe, but if you had to, as long as you make sure you pre-compress the video and recognize that CS isn’t ideally made for long-form content you should be ok.

If I can clarify anything or answer any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks!
Craig
