Transcript:
Hey, everybody, it’s Craig with Clipscribe. Does your video content need close captioning? or doesn’t need attention? I often get people uploading the video to Clipscribe and really their main goal is just to add closed captions to their videos. maybe they have a long video, they’re going to upload to youtube or put on their web page, 30 minutes, 45-minute hour-long video. Maybe it’s an interview or a podcast or something. and often I say to those people.
Clipscribe is an attention tool
Clipscribe is probably not the most ideal tool for that. Not because you can’t add closed captions to your videos, subtitles to your videos. It’s just that Clipscribe at its core is an attention tool. The goal of Clipscribe is to help you get attention on your video content, especially in the social media feed and what I always say is if somebody is watching a video of yours that’s 30 minutes long or 45 minutes long or an hour-long, you have their attention period. I mean nobody’s going to watch a video that long unless they’re already sold either on the topic or they’re sold on you and a lot of the work is already done in that case you have their attention but where Clipscribe shines is helping you get attention in the feed.
Create a little version of videos using Clipscribe
When people are scrolling by all the video content, they are not sold on you. They don’t know you they don’t care about you and you want to draw them in and what I recommend people do is upload either you know the long video to Clipscribe or cut it up into sections and upload those to Clipscribe and then use Clipscribe to create little short versions of those videos real punchy minute long, 30 seconds long little videos that you can then send out to all the different platforms in all the different layouts
that are going to benefit on those different platforms vertical for IGTV square for Facebook and LinkedIn. Obviously horizontal, for Youtube or Vimeo or your website and use those to grab the attention of those that don’t know you and don’t care about you and then draw them in and then send them over to your long-form content where now they care about you.
Clipscribe is not a closed captioning tool
Now, they want to hear from you, they like you and you have their attention. So Clipscribe at its core is an attention tool. It’s, not a closed captioning tool even though you can just simply add subtitles to a long video, you’re not getting the most out of it. If that’s what you’re using it for, use it to grab the attention of those flying through social media feeds, at 900 mph if you can do that, you’re going to get more eyes and more attention and more people that care about you on your longer-form content, then you’re going to do it by just adding subtitles to your long-form content and throwing it out there. You’re not going to get as much benefit from that.
So, hopefully, that is helpful for you. Let me know if you have questions or comments, and I look forward to seeing you on another video.
